Dr. Lolonis is the Head of the Geospatial Information Department at the Hellenic Cadastre. He has a diploma in Rural and Surveying Engineering from the National Technical U. of Athens, Greece, and a M.A. and a Ph.D. in Geography from the U. of Iowa, USA. Dr. Lolonis specializes in cadastre, geomatics, GIS, and spatial analysis. He has worked extensively in the areas of cadastre, SDSS, geo-statistics, and spatio-temporal databases. He has published more than 30 research articles in international journals and has received more than 15 national and international awards for his work. For the past 22 years, Dr. Lolonis has been working for the Hellenic Cadastre and has served on various scientific and managerial posts such as Head of the Research and Development Division, Head of the Planning Office, Director of the Planning Department, and Head of the Geospatial Information Department. He is a member of numerous professional and scientific associations such as the Technical Chamber of Greece, the Hellenic Association of Rural and Surveying Engineers, the Hellenic Society of Photogrammetry, the Hellenic Association of Computer and Information Technology Scientists, and the Hellenic Geographic Information Systems Society (HellasGI). In additions, he has served on various professional posts, such as, Vice Chair of Administration for the FIG Com 3 Committee, Deputy Chair of the Committee of the Hellenic Presidency of the PCC, and Deputy Representative of the Hellenic Cadastre in Eurogeographics and EuroSDR.
